Faceless, by Jus Accardo
“My name is Brandt Cross, and I died. Again…
I’m living in the body of a Six named Douglass Cain, a certifiable scumbag whose ability is on Zendean Industries—AKA Denazen’s–most wanted list. There’s some serious bad going down, and Ginger, the leader of the Underground, sent me undercover to obtain information because people are dying.
My cousin, Dez, is dying…
Denazen thought they’d found a cure for the Supremacy decline, but they were wrong. That’s the bad news. The good news? Franklin Wentz.
Wentz, the owner of a genetic research company, is brilliant and just a little bit crazy. He’s unwittingly created a formula that may cure the sick Supremacy kids, and everyone wants it—including Devin, the super hot Resident.
Get the formula. Save the day. Don’t fall for the hot spy. Piece of cake.” (via the description on Amazon.com)
Here’s another example of how I’ve done series matching on a cover. I was pretty excited to be pulled in for this one as this series is fairly popular for Ms. Accardo. Plus, I like a challenge and a good game of “match another designer’s style” seemed right up my alley.
The folks at Entangled made this relatively easy to do by providing me with the fonts used on the other covers, as well as an excellent description of the book’s feel, plot, and characters. It’s always a pleasure to work with this crew.
I was directed to a Facebook thread of people discussing this cover, which gave me a chuckle. There was a bit of an OMG NOOOO! moment when they looked at the young man on this cover until they realized this was a different character’s story than is featured in the other books. I’ve actually gotten quite a few compliments on this piece and EP only revealed it yesterday! That’s always a cool feeling to know that people like my work and mention it to their friend, not knowing said friend knows me! It really makes my day.
Hope the readers like the story as much! :)
